KB: Autodesk software installation

You will need an Autodesk account to download and install their software. Most people in the department use the free Education licences. If you’re unsure of whether your role is eligible for this, check with your line manager.

To register for an education licence, visit: Autodesk Education & Student Access | Autodesk and register with your University email address.

You should receive an email to confirm your eligibility.

Once you’re confirmed, login to Autodesk and go to: https://www.autodesk.com/education/edu-software/

Fusion should be near the top. If you click on Get Licence a pop-up window will appear and there is a link to download the software. You’ll need to elevate your account with your elevated account with the format .\crsid-elev username (if that doesn’t work, you may not need the .\ infront of your CRSID) and the password you chose. You will need to sign in with your Autodesk account every time you run the software as this is how Autodesk check that their software is licensed.
