  2. Select Settings and more (...) next to your profile picture, then select Settings.

  3. Select Calls.

  4. Under Call handling and forwarding, choose how calls should be routed:

    • Select Forward my calls and choose Voicemail to send all calls directly to voicemail.

    • Under If unanswered, select Voicemail to send calls to voicemail after your devices ring.

  5. Set the ring duration before the call is redirected.

Set up a personal greeting

  1. Go to Settings → Calls.

  2. In the Voicemail section, select Configure voicemail.

  3. Choose a greeting option:

    • Text-to-speech greeting: Enter a message for Teams to read to callers automatically.

Set an out-of-office greeting

  1. Open Settings → Calls → Configure voicemail.

  2. Find Out of office greeting.

  3. Enter your out-of-office message.

  4. Choose when it should play:

    • All the time

    • When I have an Outlook auto-reply

    • When I have an out-of-office calendar event

Configure call-answering options

Under Configure voicemail, review the available options for:

  • Voicemail prompt language.

  • Allowing callers to leave a message.

  • Allowing callers to leave a message or transfer to another person.

  • Ending the call without playing a greeting.

  • Playing a greeting and ending the call without accepting a message.

Check and manage voicemail

  1. In Teams, select Calls and then Voicemail.

  2. Select a message to listen to the recording or review its transcription.

  3. Use the available controls to change playback speed, call the person back, or manage the message.

Voicemail messages are also delivered to your university email account in Outlook, typically with the audio recording and an available transcription.

If voicemail settings or transcription are unavailable, contact your IT service desk. The feature may not be enabled for your account or telephone number.
